  • Community Sponsorship Program.

    Origin’s Community Sponsorship Program offers organisations and groups the opportunity to access financial assistance and in-kind contributions to support events and programs that benefit the community.

    The program aims to add value to community activities that make a positive contribution to one or more of the following areas:

    Community Safety, Health and Wellbeing – funding that supports safer and healthier communities (including efforts by ambulance, healthcare, police and emergency services) and public welfare activities

    Environmental stewardship – funding that supports the protection and enhancement of productivity in our natural resources, including agriculture, land, water and biodiversity

    Skills and Education – supporting community capacity building through local skills development and adding to local education opportunities

    Sustainable Population Growth – assisting communities to build social and physical infrastructure which will meet the challenges of increased population growth. This includes investment in affordable housing

    Community events and activities that promote and enhance community connectedness

    All Origin sponsorships must fit within one or more of these priority areas.

    Origin will consider supporting (inclusions)

    • Projects and organisations that provide benefits to the
      communities in which we operate. This includes the local
      government areas of Maranoa Regional Council, Western
      Downs Regional Council, Banana Shire Council and the south
      western part of Toowoomba Regional Council
    • Projects which contribute to one or more of the priority areas
      listed above
    • Projects which are consistent with Origin’s values of caring,
      listening, learning and delivering
    • One-off social/community events or fundraisers

    Origin will generally not support (exclusions)

    • Individuals
    • Political organisations or campaigns
    • Minor sporting teams or clubs
    • Religious organisations for religious activities
    • An organisation’s ongoing operational costs
    • Private companies or commercial entities
    • Activities which encourage the irresponsible use of alcohol
    • Activities which encourage gambling
    • One-off donations to the same organisation more than
      once per year
    • Activities which are usually exclusively funded by government
    • Activities which provide a direct financial benefit to Australia
      Pacific LNG or Origin employees or contractors
    • Activities which risk the welfare of animals
